About me:
Biography
Gultakin Nasibova (b. 1995, Baku, Azerbaijan) is an Azerbaijanian contemporary visual artist currently working in Wackersdorf, Germany. Primarily working with oil paint, Nasibova creates images with an emotional and sensitive view of nature. She creates vibrant yet quiet scenes using oil paint techniques inspired by the Impressionism and Post-Impressionism art movements.
Nasibova has been driven to create since she was a child, finding encouragement from teachers to cultivate her skills. While she decided to go the more practical route of a career in business and management, she found her passion to create did not dwindle. Nasibova learned about painting techniques of draftsmanship and the craft of oil painting through a traditional apprenticeship from a professional painter in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Throughout her life, she studied the masters of art throughout her personal studio studies. Whether visiting museums, analyzing images, or participating in studies of masterworks, she consistently improved her skills in painting. She resonated on a poignant level with artists Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh. She focuses on transmitting the beauty of nature into emotions in her viewers.
Artist statement
In my artistic journey, I immerse myself in the boundless beauty and intricate details of nature, capturing its essence through the vibrant interplay of oil and acrylic colors.
Nature, with its awe-inspiring landscapes, delicate flora, and majestic fauna, serves as an eternal muse for my creative expression. But it’s not just the visual beauty of nature that inspires me. For me, the natural world is also a symbol of something deeper, something spiritual or metaphysical. I try to see in the landscapes and seascapes around me a reflection of the human condition, of the joys and sorrows, the hopes and fears, that we all experience. I use my paintings to express my own feelings and insights, and to connect with others on a profound level.
Therefore, I seek to capture not just the physical appearance of a scene, but also the emotional resonance it holds for them.
I paint in impasto style on wood panels. Each painting is a reflection of my emotional state, ranging from gloomy to in awe to resolute. I use oil paint to give a textured effect where the painting surface exceeds its two-dimensional form.
I try to give each scene a sense of reality and wonder if the viewer is transported into the painting’s place. My mission as an artist is to transport the viewer into these dream-like scenes full of color and texture and allow them to feel the emotion within each artwork.
